Welcome to Private Practice by Design!

Are you a private practice owner thinking, “I wish there were supervision for businesses?” If so, you’ve landed on the right page! Here at Private Practice by Design, we envision business consultation services to be like receiving clinical supervision. Our mission is to work alongside you in accomplishing your business goals, whether that be learning how to scale your practice, increasing efficiency, learning the ins and outs of clinical compliance, and beyond.

Meet Your Consultants

Alison Pidgeon, LPC, worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor for 12 years and then ventured into founding her own group private practice in 2015. With her experience as the CEO of Move Forward Counseling, LLC, she understands the intricacies of the mental health industry and the hurdles private practice owners face. Her approach provides practical business strategies so you can design your business around your life and achieve your personal and professional goals.

Dr. Tiana Kelly, DSocSci, LPC, NCC has been working in a clinical capacity in counseling since 2017 and has also dedicated several years to developing and strengthening Move Forward Counseling’s compliance program. Tiana brings a wealth of knowledge in her consultant role related to compliant documentation practices and policy development, HIPAA and ethical standards, as well as chart auditing. When working with Tiana, you can expect to feel empowered as you develop your compliance program.

What is Private Practice by Design?

Mental healthcare is made possible, in part, by thriving private practices; however, we hear many colleagues express frustration that graduate school neglects coursework related to business ownership. Similarly, our field is held to rigorous ethical and compliance standards, but there is a gap in training efforts related to the requirements of compliant practice.

Alison and Tiana both have extensive consulting experience and are skilled in working alongside other professionals to achieve their professional and business goals. After putting our heads together and discussing the unique demands of private practice ownership and the training insufficiencies thereof, Private Practice by Design (PPBD) came to life! PPBD was developed to fill training gaps in our profession, equip professionals with the skills needed to implement efficient and ethical work processes, as well as empower private practice owners to thrive personally and professionally.
